Looking for a Young Woman from the 1940s

I have been scanning my late mother’s photo albums. Among them is one that belonged to her brother, Douglas Gordon Rathwell. He was born in Lachine, Quebec, Canada in 1922 and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a navigator. He was stationed at Croft Air Field  during WWII and was killed six weeks before the end of the war.

Expansion of Spring Bank Primary School - proposal

Due to recent increases in the number of children aged 0-5 who live in the Hyde Park and Headingley areas, it has been identified that additional school places are required to meet the need for local families.

Leeds City Council is seeking views on the following proposal: To expand Spring Bank Primary School from a capacity of 210 to 420 pupils by increasing the admission limit in Reception from 30 to 60 pupils with effect from September 2018. It would take several years for the school to reach full capacity.

Music books, sheet music and scores

Good afternoon

Is anyone interested in:

Music books bought to support study for an OU MA degree in music.

Sheet music, much but not all, for the flute. Ranges in level from beginner to performance.

Orchestral scores though these are very old and tatty.

Wheelie Bins

Hi - it's probably been done to death but is there a solution to unsightly wheelie bins lining our streets. I live at Ash Terrace and Chapel Street at the end looks like a slum with long rows of bins either side of the street which no one bothers to take in - instead people fill them up on their way out to work/shops. Isn't against the law/rules to obstruct a highway/pavement?

Sparrow Park

A little disappointed not to see a couple of protesters hanging from the trees in Sparrow Park this morning as a JCB cuts a swathe through the undergrowth - not that I disagree with the plans, just that it would have been an evocative and nostalgic  throwback to TV images fondly remembered from 1970's news broadcasts. Well done and thank you  to those who have worked so hard to get to today.

Garage available?

Hi all!

Just wondering if anybody has or knows of a garage space going spare that I could rent for a couple of months? I have an old MG which is really not appreciating January weather! If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it!

Many thanks,

Sam
