Policy on Real Names
When you sign up to headingley.org we ask for your real name because........
The aim of the community web site is to support the real-life community of Headingley.
We hope that, when you are going about your community life, you will bump in to someone you have 'met' on-line and be able to say hello.
As Headingley is a real community, real names are needed to build real-world links. We have a policy of not allowing avatars or pseudonyms as this would result in a semi-virtual community, with less connection to the real one. When you sign up for a membership we say, "Must be your REAL NAME. First name, then surname."
We also ask you not to use titles (Mr, Mrs, Dr, Cllr, etc) as part of your user name.
We also encourage you to upload a picture of yourself, in your personal profile, so that other residents can recognise you when they see you around.
