Headingley Festival - and all that jazz
A new Headingley Festival will take place over the weekend of the 7th - 9th May 2010.
The idea of the Festival is to bring our community together through the focus of music and celebration.
The Festival will feature a mix of musical styles to interest, delight and engage with as broad a cross-section of our community as possible.
Among the many events over the weekend
there will be:-
- a tea dance in the community centre
- a street parade involving families
- a performance by the Primary Percussion Ensemble
- an ecumenical church service featuring a gospel choir
- Leeds Youth Jazz Orchestra will be performing a new piece of music based on the work of the famous jazz musician Charles Mingus.
There will also be ticketed events in various local venues.
