Headingley Music Festival

Welcome to the third Headingley Music Festival.

This year the festival is spread over a slightly longer period of time, starting on 6th June and finishing on the 20th. We are still using several locations throughout Headingley, but of course, most of the events will happen at HEART.

This year we hope to have more dancing.  There will still be the wonderful Tea Dance on Saturday 9th June and the Family Ceilidh on Saturday 16th June.  This time the ceilidh is up at St Chads, so more space to leap around.  We are also have a Salsa night, at HEART, on Saturday 9th and a Blues/Soul evening on Friday 15th June.  So plenty of opportunities to really let go.

Again there will be the Gospel Concert at South Parade on Sunday 10th June, but a different choir this year, equally as joyful.  New for this year is the Brass Band Concert on Sunday 17th June at another of our local churches - Headingley Methodist.

The idea of the Headingley Festival originated from a desire to bring our community together through the focus of music and celebration. The festival originated as the winning proposal in a 'Dragon's Den' style competition held during the AGM of Headingley Development Trust (HDT) in February 2009.

Following our 2 years of success, we hope that the festival will become a regular event which, through fun and celebration of our local community, will widen the perception of Headingley in Leeds.

Everything you need to know about the festival is available on the www.headingleymusicfestival.com website including the programme, archive and information on venues and purchasing tickets.
