The Heathen Kings

Event date:
Tue, 22/11/2016 - 8:00pm

With a boundless enthusiasm and joy for traditional music and stories, Heathen Kings; Mark, Rachael and Steve, bring their individual musicianship and dynamic three part harmonies to their live performances.

In their current incarnation as The Heathen Kings (, they have been fortunate to play up and down the country at folk clubs and festivals including Beverley Folk Festival, Otley Folk Festival, Settle Folk Gathering, Moonbeams Wold Top Festival, EFDSS – Folk Rising (Leeds College of Music) and Potbelly Folk Festival plus appearances on The Durbervilles (BBC Radio Leeds) and at the Tour de France!

As a trio, and occasionally joined by guest musicians, they perform a mixture of traditional, self-penned and borrowed folk music from the British Isles and further afield. Influenced by musicians and singers such as Stan Rogers, Andy Irvine, Eliza Carthy, Jim Moray, Maddy Prior and Tim Hart.

Cheeky and charming by turns, they are an inspired trio!

Suggested donations £3 - £5 ( no one turned away due to lack of funds)
